All parents and guardians of pupils at Banchory Academy are automatically members of the Parent Forum (the full parent body). The Parent Council is the representative group for the Parent Forum, and is recognised in law as a statutory body. For full details, see Our Constitution
the difference between the Parent Council and the PTA?
What's The Parent Council and PTA complement one another. Both provide opportunities for parents to become actively involved in supporting our school and its pupils. The Parent Council focuses on representation and campaigning; the PTA focuses on fundraising and social events.

We meet regularly during term time. Any Parent Forum member can attend the meetings, and every September the Parent Council reports formally to the Parent Forum at the Parent Forum AGM
