How is the school organised?

Banchory Academy

Banchory Academy is a six-year (12-18) comprehensive school. The school roll is currently around 850 pupils.

The school day starts at 8.50 am and ends at 3.40 pm.

The timetable consists of 30 periods per week of 50/55 minutes, and is organised as follows:-

Each child is allocated to a House and to a register group. This allocation will be based on a number of factors, including siblings already at the school and the advice of the primary school. Each Guidance teacher has responsibility for a House and for overseeing your child’s personal, pastoral, social and academic progress. There are currently 5 Houses. Each House is linked to a Guidance teacher.

Guidance teachers should be contacted to discuss any concerns and are pleased to discuss progress with parents. The Depute Rectors are also linked to Houses.
